Now in its 21st year, Manchester’s Food Festival is back, and it’s packing a gourmet punch this year. As one of the most well respected food festivals in the world, over the years it has attracted many famous foodie faces including Jamie Oliver, Gordon Ramsay, Fergus Henderson, Michel Roux, and John Torode.
The Festival takes place in venues across the city, and at the Festival Hub on Albert Square, where a huge ‘food and drink village’ has been specially built.
The Festival Hub on Albert Square opens at noon on Thursday 27 September and closes at 11pm on Sunday 7 October. It opens daily from 12.00pm-11.00pm and is free to enter.
While the onus is on expectational food and drink experiences, there is also a string of fantastic music events taking place including the City Life Music Stage which is hosting a line-up of musicians and DJs worthy of a food festival based in the world’s most musical city.

The big bad wolf of the dining world, and the country’s most famous restaurant critic, Jay Rayner brings his Jazz Quartet to the venue for a night of music, storytelling, food and drink. Albert’s Schloss, Friday 28 September. Book a table at Albert’s Schloss on Friday 28th September between 6pm and 7:30pm. Show start time is 7.30pm.
Bridge Street’s fabulous Randall and Aubin team up with The Gourmet Caviar House to present a rare gastro opportunity. Guests will be given a glass of Randall & Aubin’s house champagne and then will have an opportunity to sample a range of the most exquisite caviars around. Rabbit head chef John Granaghan has joined forces with Seven Bro7hers Brewery to bring his Asian inspired fine dining experience to the MFDF Dome.
